Biomedical Journal of Indonesia (BJI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal that publishes scholarly articles in biomedical sciences, medicine, and related health sciences.

The journal accepts the following three types of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Article

Original Research Articles present original findings from scientific investigations that contribute to the advancement of biomedical and medical knowledge.

Manuscripts should present a clear research objective, appropriate study design and methodology, valid data analysis, and scientifically supported conclusions.

Original Research Articles should generally be structured into Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion sections.

  2. Systematic Review

Systematic Reviews provide comprehensive and critical syntheses of existing scientific evidence addressing clearly defined research questions.

Manuscripts should describe a systematic and reproducible literature search, explicit inclusion and exclusion criteria, study selection procedures, quality appraisal or risk-of-bias assessment, and appropriate evidence synthesis.

Authors are encouraged to follow the PRISMA 2020 reporting guidelines. Meta-analysis may be included when appropriate.

  3. Case Report

Case Reports describe clinically significant, unusual, or educational cases that contribute to medical knowledge and clinical practice.

Manuscripts should clearly present the patient's clinical history, relevant findings, diagnostic assessment, therapeutic interventions, outcomes, and clinical implications.

Authors are encouraged to follow the CARE reporting guidelines and must ensure patient confidentiality and obtain appropriate informed consent for publication.
